Dear NCSY EURO ICE parents, After a day full of scenic biking by Lake Balaton, we are very excited to be preparing for our first Shabbos of the trip, which will be spent in Budapest, Hungary. The past days have been packed with exciting activities, touring historic sites, and watching local performances. On Thursday, we first visited the Challengeland Kalandpark, a ropes course facility where we zip-lined and climbed in the trees, and then took part in team building activities. We then traveled back to the center of Budapest, where we visited the Dohany Synagogue, the largest shul in Europe and second biggest in the world. In the same location, we viewed the Raoul Wallenberg statue, commemorating the thousands of Hungarian Jews that he saved in the Holocaust. We also toured the Jewish Museum and saw many Jewish artifacts. Now that it's Friday and we have returned from our biking adventure, we are preparing to enjoy the holiness of Shabbos in the beautiful city of Budapest. Best wishes, Rabbi Israel Lashak, Director, NCSY EURO ICE
